Why Shop Local?

Why Shop Local?

In these rough economic times it seems to be the ‘Ma and Pa’ places getting hit the hardest, but surviving because of the strong desire of the community to shop locally. But what makes shopping locally so much more appealing? San Francisco especially has protected its local city charm by thriving on new local designers. The Mission is known for it’s locally owned businesses and one of a kind designers just waiting to make it big. Our customers have become aware that by keeping their dollar in the local community they are creating three times the impact that dollar has. Shoppers are sustaining and creating jobs, but also promoting the community development. Lately we have noticed people falling more in love with the idea that only a hand full of people can ever have the clothing they are wearing if the piece is by a small designer. It gives that unique higher end quality, but at a lower cost. Knowing that only 20 pieces are made of each style are put onto the selling floor makes it even harder for your friends to show up wearing the same thing as you. Shopping locally means you are also getting a more personal experience. You are often receiving more attention than the average store, which makes it a one of kind shopping trip. So take a trip around your local shopping area, and if you are in the Mission or Fillmore, check us out at Sunhee Moon and we will be glad to show you all of the reasons why shopping locally is so enjoyable.

New Sunhee Moon Girl!

Hi Sunhee Mooner’s!

My name is Marie. I am one of the newest Sunhee Moon girls. I graduated from San Diego State University. Several attributes that I love about Sunhee Moon products are the pockets that blend in with the clothing! Many of the dresses here are one of a kind and versatile (they have pockets too)! As a stylist, I like to experiment with putting outfits together and seeing the different looks you can come up with. The same dress at Sunhee Moon can be molded into 4 different styles with just the change of accessories, which is really exciting to me. I really love the positive energy of the customers at Sunhee Moon, its made me fall even more in love with fashion, which I never thought could of happened. I love having fun with clothes and styling our customers.

Come Check out our new styles!
Marie

New Sunhee Moon Girl!

Hello Nice to meet you! My name is Ai.
I'm a new sunhee moon girl.
I was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. I have been living in San Francisco almost 3 years. While here I have graduated from FIDM and fell in love with the city. From my first job when I was younger and still living in Japan, I have worked in a boutique. I always wanted to experience different things and meet new people, so when I graduated from college, I moved to
New Zealand and Vancouver BC and finally to San Francisco. Fashion is everything to me, so working with Sunhee Moon has been fantastic! Working at the store is very exciting for me because I always learn something new and meet with new great customers. I'm looking forward to seeing you when you come to visit our store!
Thanks Ai!

Why Bamboo is for you!

What is Bamboo Fabric? Besides being the new “IT” fabric, it is an environmentally safe fabric that has hit the streets running! The pulp of the bamboo grass is used to make fabrics that are not only light as air, but as stronger than cotton. Because bamboo grows more quickly than cotton, takes less pesiticides, and does not strip the earth of vital nutrients is fastly becoming the most exciting thing this season! Bamboo is our most anti-bacterial fabric by reducing the bacteria that thrives on clothing, killing odor causing bacteria that sits on the skin, and because this fabric is just that amazing, it keeps you cool in the summer heat and warm in the winter! It won’t be itchy like wool, loose color like cotton, or pill like everything else! So take a look a look at a few of the new styles that came out in bamboo this year! A fun, flirty sun dress like the Jena is a sure way to show off your eco friendly looks! Need something more work appropriate? Take a look at the Nate, a woven bamboo it breaths just right, or the Blake with a sassy cowl neck that won’t go unnoticed! The most award winning top this spring from our bamboo line is…. The Farrah! This has suddenly become everyones overnight sensation! Check it out in the light olive color or a nice rich black to go into every season! Make yourself feel cozy and earth friendly! We can all do our part to show we care!

Shirt Dresses taking over the world!

How did you pick out your outfit today, did you run straight to your closet, pull out the perfect dress and put it on, or did you try on 10 different outfits before finally landing on the one that you just couldn’t take off? Either way, we have seen a big movement towards the classic look. The button down shirtdress is coming back into the scene with a fire under it! But did it truly ever go out? Never! Whether you are throwing it on for an interview or just going to the market with friends they are always amazing. The best part, you look great without the effort of truly putting together 2 or 3 piece outfits. Meeting with a client for business or going to dinner with that special someone at your favorite restaurant the Sarah is a great dress. With a sweet, but sexy kick back pleat this sateen dress will perfect for years to come. This dress has been a staple of our company and each time it is re-cut we sold out in New York minute. Going to the market or brunch with friends, try the Elise. A cotton fabric this dress really goes from day to night! Throw it on and run out the door, still looking fresh and put together. Don’t be surprised when you find yourself wearing this dress for years to come. The best part about these classic styles is putting it in the back of the closet for months and pulling it out, with it still being in style. Changing your accessories can make either dress go a long way. Where simple flats or gladiator sandals for your day time look, slipping on heels at night making you the bell of the ball!
