San Francisco Style

In the past week I've been asked how I would describe the style in San Francisco.  Each time I answered I felt like it was different.
At first..... I thought... hipster!  It has that 80's rocker edgy appeal, but modern.  Then.... I was like.... funky.  A little hip hop vibe, with the neon colored Nike's, hoodies sticking out of leather jackets, a fedora and a scarf layered like a bib (ha ha).  My third answer was classic. Simple, clean, bold, well fitted basic pieces that speak out...." I dress well."
Is it based on age, background, class,...... or maybe neighborhoods?
Clothes definitely represent who we are and how we want to present ourselves.  A statement.  Do you wanna feel sexy, comfortable, confident, serious or all of the above? It's funny, cause they say don't ever judge a book by it's cover...when in actuality that's the first thing we look at.

Does it really matter how others see us or how we see ourselves?  I say WHO CARES!   Don't be afraid to make heads turn and have people observe how good you look.  Style comes from within yourself.  If you're looking to change that, don't be afraid to take chances, open up a little. It feels good to be different.
